From the archives

Actually, technically this is not from the archives, since I just finished the ends last night!  I really don't remember how long it has been since I actually finished the piece though.  I remember working on it (or rather, taking it along) when I went for a housing visit for my previous job.  Granted that was only a few years ago, but it's a small motif!  If I remember it was almost done, when I went on that trip.  I probably finished it soon after, but never bothered to sew in the ends.  At least it's an easy way to finish off one more WIP!

The pattern is from a vintage Coats & Clark booklet.  The only one I have, in fact.  My husband found it for me in a used book shop.  It's part of a set where you can make matching place mats, glass mats, center piece and probably a few pieces I'm forgetting.  This is the smallest medallion you can make.  The thread is DMC 80, not sure if the color is still available.  This was one of the first pieces I made when I decided to break away from white, ecru and black.  I'm not sure I've been all that successful in moving to other colors though!

  1. Beautiful! How cool that your hubby brought that pattern book home for you! I love to hear stories about men who are thoughtful like that! :)
