Another little puncetto square. Not much to say about this one except that so far it is my favorite pattern. It looks a lot like filet crochet, doesn't it? I don't do filet crochet myself, but it's my mom's choice of lace. She has made some beautiful (and large!) pieces. Come to think of it, she also uses the same size thread for most of her crochet...
Let's see, I guess the tension is getting better and new thread joins are also becoming more invisible. I still have to think about it before I do it though! It's still not my favorite thing in the world, so I tend to work with longer thread then I really should. Of course the thread tangles when I start to work with it, which is really frustrating. Probably more frustrating than adding new thread! I still have only a few areas where I'm comfortable adding thread (like in solid blocks, if at all possible), so I'm not quite at the point where I could join thread wherever I had to. Once I get to that point, I will probably start working with a bit shorter lengths of thread.
Made with DMC Cebelia 30 in ecru. In terms of the actual work, I could probably go to smaller thread. However, I am worried that with smaller thread I would have a hard time counting the knots. I still have the best intentions of switching to thinner thread at some point!
The square is ~ 2 in on the side.
I can see why this one is your favourite - it is really appealing in its simplicity. Caught my eye immediately! Nicely done.
